The 1837 Philly half eagle is certainly the toughest P mint of the date. This lemon yellow slider is exceptionally attractive with nice luster and thick skin. A small amount of high point rub and minor handling are all that is holding this example from an uncirculated grade, although the eye appeal is certainly superior to many in 61 holders. AU58 represents a great value grade as prices skyrocket in 62 and above.
11 graded by CAC in 58, with 18 higher.
